Yacht Varnishing & Wood Restoration
Yacht varnishing and wood restoration by our own experienced specialists. Our mobile teams work across Europe by prior arrangement, restoring interior and exterior woodwork, repairing local damage and renewing protective finishes within an agreed scope.
Master Ocean restores and refinishes wooden surfaces on yachts, including handrails, cappings, doors, tables, cabinetry and decorative trim. All work is carried out by our own specialists with practical experience in yacht repair and refit.
Before proposing a restoration plan, we assess the wood, the existing finish and any visible damage. Our inspection considers peeling varnish, fading, scratches, staining, local cracks and signs of moisture-related deterioration. Where necessary, we investigate the cause of the damage before refinishing.
Our services include removal of deteriorated coatings, careful sanding, surface preparation and local wood repairs. Damaged sections, loose joints or veneer defects are assessed individually, with repairs or replacement included where appropriate. Preparation methods take account of the condition and thickness of the wood or veneer.
We renew varnish and other suitable protective finishes for interior and exterior woodwork. The coating system is selected according to the substrate, existing finish, exposure and intended use. Colour, sheen and the desired appearance are agreed before work begins, with sample areas prepared where needed.
For exterior woodwork, we plan the work around suitable weather conditions, surface moisture and the coating manufacturer’s application and curing requirements. Nearby fittings, upholstery, painted surfaces and glazing are protected during preparation and coating.
Where staining or deterioration is linked to water ingress, the source needs to be assessed and addressed as part of an agreed repair plan. Extensive decay, structural timber repairs or larger joinery replacements are assessed and quoted separately where they fall outside the initial scope.
Our mobile teams travel to your yacht across Europe by prior arrangement, working onboard at its berth or in a shipyard. Where components need to be removed for workshop restoration, collection, transport and refitting arrangements are agreed in advance.
Each project starts with a defined scope, quotation and schedule. Additional damage discovered during preparation, and any resulting extra work or costs, are submitted for approval before proceeding. After completion, we inspect the restored surfaces, finish consistency and any repaired or refitted components within the agreed scope.
Send us your yacht’s model, location and photographs of the woodwork, including close-up views of any damage. Include approximate dimensions, your preferred colour or finish and your desired completion date to request an assessment.
