Teak Deck Repair & Restoration

Teak Deck Repair & Restoration

Teak deck repair, restoration and replacement by our own experienced specialists. Our mobile teams work across Europe by prior arrangement, repairing damaged planks, renewing deck seams and restoring teak surfaces within an agreed scope.

Master Ocean repairs, restores and replaces teak decking on yacht decks, bathing platforms, steps and other teak-covered areas. All work is carried out by our own specialists with practical experience in yacht repair and refit.

Before recommending repairs or replacement, we assess the condition of the teak, the remaining thickness where accessible, the deck seams, adhesion and visible signs of water ingress. We inspect worn surfaces, cracked or loose planks, failed caulking, missing plugs and previous repairs to establish a suitable scope of work.

Our services include local plank repairs and replacement, renewal of damaged seams, repair of loose sections and replacement of missing or deteriorated plugs where applicable. Existing seam material is removed as required, and the joints are prepared for compatible marine deck caulking in accordance with the product requirements.

Restoration can include careful cleaning and controlled sanding where the condition and remaining thickness of the teak allow. We assess whether sanding is appropriate before proceeding, as heavily worn decking may require local repairs or replacement rather than further removal of material. The intended surface finish is agreed in advance.

Where restoration is no longer suitable, we undertake partial or full teak deck replacement. The work can include removal of existing decking, assessment and preparation of the underlying surface, layout planning, fitting of new teak and seam caulking. Plank dimensions, layout, materials and installation methods are agreed before work begins. Any damage or moisture-related problems discovered beneath the decking are assessed and quoted before additional repairs proceed.

Our mobile teams travel to your yacht across Europe by prior arrangement, working onboard at its berth or in a shipyard where conditions permit. Access, weather protection, component removal and any workshop requirements are agreed in advance. Installation and caulking are planned around suitable conditions and the adhesive and sealant manufacturers’ curing requirements.

Each project starts with a defined scope, quotation and schedule. Additional work and costs are submitted for approval before proceeding. After completion, we inspect the repaired or replaced areas, seams and surface finish, and carry out the checks included in the agreed scope.

Send us your yacht’s make, model, length and location, together with photographs of the teak areas and approximate dimensions. Include details of loose planks, damaged seams or suspected leaks, and your preferred completion date to request an assessment.
