Marine Generator Service

Marine Generator Service

Marine generator diagnostics, maintenance and repairs by Master Ocean’s own experienced yacht technicians, with mobile service teams available across Europe by prior arrangement.

Master Ocean provides diagnostics, maintenance and repairs for marine generators onboard motor yachts and sailing yachts. All work is carried out by our own technicians with practical experience in yacht repair and maintenance. Our mobile repair teams travel to yachts across Europe by prior arrangement.

We investigate starting problems, unexpected shutdowns, overheating, fluid leaks, unusual noise or vibration, and unstable electrical output. We review the reported symptoms, operating hours, service history and available fault codes to establish the checks required and define the repair scope.

Routine servicing can include engine oil and filter changes, fuel filter replacement, cooling system inspection, seawater pump and impeller checks, and inspection of belts, hoses and connections. We plan maintenance around the generator model, its condition and the manufacturer’s service requirements.

Our technicians inspect fuel supply, lubrication, cooling and exhaust systems, identify leaks and replace worn or faulty components within the agreed scope. We also investigate starting batteries, charging faults, electrical connections, control systems and generator output where relevant to the reported problem.

Our mobile teams work onboard at the yacht’s berth or in a shipyard, with access and working arrangements agreed in advance. Where generator removal, lifting or workshop repairs are required, we agree these arrangements before proceeding.

Before starting, we define the scope and prepare a quotation, taking account of parts availability, access and your preferred schedule. Additional work and costs are submitted for approval before proceeding.

After completion, we check the serviced components, inspect for leaks and verify generator operation within the agreed scope. Where appropriate, operational checks include running the generator under an agreed electrical load and monitoring relevant readings.

To request an assessment, send your yacht’s make, model and location, together with the generator make, model, operating hours and a description of the problem. Include relevant photographs, fault codes, available service records and your preferred completion date.
